It is our plan to establish the Middle East Chapter due to officially be launched in 2020.
The two initiators of the Middle East Women in Exhibitions Chapter are Victoria James, Event Director at Bett Mea, Hyve Group and Samantha Kane-Macdonald, Exhibition and Events Consultant. They are both located in Dubai, with many years of experience in our industry and with an enormous drive to set up the Middle East Chapter.
They are making strides in securing a founding members panel for the ME chapter in the coming period and already involved some prominent women as founding partners that we hope to introduce soon.
“It’s been really exciting to take this concept to our network in the region – I’ve worked with so many incredible women in the exhibitions industry in Dubai, who are under-represented for myriad reasons in a complex region. There’s so much strength in a rich network in the Middle East given its transient nature and incredible potential, and I’m pleased to have the opportunity to drive this forward.” Victoria James, Event Director Bett MEA, Hyve Group Dubai said in an interview.
Sam Kane-Macdonald, Exhibitions and Events Consultant Dubai added: “The events industry in the Middle East has witnessed continued growth over the last four decades, and the role that women play has become more apparent in recent years. The timing is right for the Middle East Chapter launch which will provide a much-needed networking platform to connect women in the industry, many of whom are business owners and freelancers. We also plan to provide coaching and mentoring programmes for the next generation of women, to support their career goals and importantly that they can continue to develop diversity and inclusion in the industry. “
The team looks forward to build a membership base and initiate outreach programmes dedicated to career development, industry best practice and mentorship programmes.
