Delivered by Francesco Glorioso

Digital Marketing & Platforms Exec | Informa Markets

Women are generally very dedicated employees and ardent ambassadors of the organizations and the brands they represent professionally. But how good are women at promoting ourselves? Perhaps not so good….

Unfortunately, many women lack confidence and/or the tools that help them shine as professionals, and so are often overshadowed by their male counterparts.

Francesco Glorioso is a highly seasoned marketing professional who will share, during this online session, some of his innermost secrets and practical, easy-to-apply tools that will help women promote themselves as a brand: their own personal brand!

Francesco will explain the different elements around personal branding (what does it mean?), with some dos and don’ts. He will also explain how to best leverage social media, whilst including some actionable real-life examples.

Francesco will also share why women need to focus on authenticity, and will help each WIE woman find her very own North Star!

About Francesco:

When people ask about my profession, I tell them: I am an Exhibition Organizer! My name is Francesco, I have full proficiency in four languages, and adeptness in diplomacy and adaptability. I excel in international environments where authenticity, charisma, respect, and resilience take precedence over cultural codes and degrees.

Swiss-born, and raised in a small town in Sicily, Italy, I earned my master’s degree with honors in Conference Interpreting and International Communications from the International University of Languages and Communications (IULM) in Milan.

My professional path kicked off with a temporary consultancy role at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization – UNESCO in Paris in 2013.

Over two and a half years, I worked on global initiatives engaging with staff members, ambassadors, and permanent delegations of member states. I polished my diplomatic skills and found my footing within a hierarchical structured environment.

As my temporary contract ended, I left UNESCO and joined an agency of hosts and hostesses in Paris. THERE is where the magic happened! I was exposed to an incredible number of tradeshows spanning different industries such as nuclear, art, IT, neurosurgery, infrastructures, fitness, fashion, and real estate.

I worked at the info point, registration desk, protocol desk, scanning delegates’ badges, serving drinks at VIP receptions, handing out publications — the list goes on; you name it! Yet, I can pinpoint that moment I knew this was my industry.

The personal brand I built in those months naturally led me to conduct different interviews with the organizers. My perseverance paid off, and eventually I got hired by Reed MIDEM (now RX Global) and officially joined the premier Exhibitions Organizer with a permanent contract where for six years I handled marketing and communications for the Television & Entertainment portfolio.

Today I serve for Informa Markets and keep doing what I love. Exhibitions. My career has burgeoned in a fast-paced environment where we work by the motto: “Think big, act small, deliver consistently”. I look forward to many more years of collaboration.

Currently serving the Medical Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery vertical, I work closely with senior management and teams, leading the transition toward a robust digital communication framework. The journey ahead is promising.

“The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it” (Molière). These words resonate with me, as one does not measure success by the easy times, instead by the challenges overcome while trying to succeed.
